Cork is a 100% natural material obtained from the outer bark of the Quercus Suber (cork oak) tree. These trees typically grow in Mediterranean countries such as Portugal, Spain, Italy, and Algeria. They can live for 150–200 years and produce bark for up to 100 years. Cork oaks do not naturally grow in Turkey, although limited cultivation attempts are being made in Antalya and Izmir.
Cork is harvested by hand every 9–11 years and is classified according to its quality. More than 50% of its cellular structure is filled with air, and thanks to a substance called suberin, it provides water resistance, biological durability, and flexibility.
With its eco-friendly nature, cork supports sustainable living. It is a natural raw material that should be preferred to help protect both our environment and our future.

Natural cork bark obtained from the cork oak is carefully processed and transformed into materials that bring value to many industries. From harvesting and grading to cutting and industrial application, respect for nature and quality in production guide every step of our process. With Duplas, nature meets technology.
The outer bark of cork oak trees is carefully and manually stripped every 9–11 years during harvesting. The tree is not harmed and continues its natural growth cycle.
The stripped cork bark is boiled to clean it, flattened, and then stabilized for several days. This process helps the material maintain its shape and increases its durability.
Cork layers are graded according to quality. They are then cut or shaped to be transformed into products such as stoppers, boards, gaskets, or underlays.
The remaining pieces are ground into granules. These granules are used as raw material in many sectors, such as rubber-enhanced composites, insulation boards, and floor and wall coverings.
